Me: I hear that they're going to make Drew Carey the host of the Price is Right. I don't want that at all. I'd even rather watch Ann Coulter host than Drew Carey.
Kerri: Really? I wouldn't want to watch Ann Coulter do anything. Except maybe die.

Cheating Thursday, July 26, 2007 |
To all those people who think that cycling is full of cheats, and who discredit the sport because of the recent expulsions (Rasmussen and Vinokourov), I urge you to think about this: at least the tour is actively doing something about it. While baseball covers it up, ignores it, and lets known cheaters keep th

eir records (and keep playing), the tour is publicly chastising and throwing cheaters out.
People say this hurts the tour, gives it a bad name. But I think it is making it stronger for the years to come. Cyclists don't want to be embarrassed like Vinokourov (who may never ride professionally again). They don't want to be taken out of the race two and a half weeks into it, by their own team (like Rasmussen). Cycling is making a point- we do not allow cheating. And I appreciate it.
I hate the hypocrisy and the looking the other way in baseball. It
is embarrassing, and it
is a heart break every time a rider is discovered cheating. But I would rather know about it now, so I'm not worshiping false idols.

I'm done! Sunday, July 22, 2007 |

I finished the book today. I won't give anything away, no worries. But I loved it. I LOVED it. I was a little emotional when I finished, knowing that there would be no more books. But the last book was
so good, I think it makes up for it. I hope everyone loves it as much as I did.

I'm pretty sure my husband hates me this time of year. For three weeks every July I become obsessed with a little sporting event known as the Tour de France. While Jeffry likes to watch the finishes (and maybe some good crashes), I like to watch the whole stage in full. I find the team work just amazing. And the way the peloton moves together is beautiful some times; it looks as if it's been choreographed. The announcers are wonderful, and I learn something new from them every year. And the power that these cyclists have is unthinkable. Doping or not- I couldn't do it! I am enamored with the tour every summer.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix comes out tomorrow! I'm so excited! The seventh, and final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out July 21 (so, yes, I will be spending my birthday reading the last Harry Potter). It makes me so sad that this is the last book. I kind of wish they would delay the release... I don't want it to be over yet! It really, truly, makes me sad. I'm a nerd, I know!

I spent the fourth of July at La Paloma with Megan and the Kruszewski bunch. We had fun hanging out at the pool all day. The boys are getting so big, and Gabriel's just learning to swim. He's missing his two front teeth-very cute!
