Self-censorship Tuesday, June 19, 2007 |
About 2 months ago I became aware that my boss had stumbled upon my Flickr photos and presumably my website. Now, my photos and my site and facebook account have been pretty tame. I don't use a lot of profanity, I don't say outrageous things, etc. But when I found out that my boss was possibly reading my site, I went into freak-out mode and deleted anything political or controversial from mos of the things I do online.
I've decided to change that tonight, and for a couple of reasons. Although I work for an environment which is mostly conservative in nature, I am not going to censor what I say on the net. I simply don't think that my online activities are relevant to my workplace. Fortunately, I trust my boss and I don't fear reprisal for things I say as long as it is not relevant to my job. If I thought I was working for a company that was irrational and reactionary, I wouldn't be working for them anyway. I also don't think that my boss reads this site anymore. But I digress. posted by Jeffry on Tuesday, June 19, 2007
London Part 2 Sunday, June 10, 2007 |We walked through Hyde Park. We saw the Princess Diana memorial fountain, the Peter Pan statue, and the Italian Fountains. The park is beautiful. So big and so green. It was such an enjoyable time. We then went to Buckingham Palace. On the way, they stopped traffic and as you can see behind us in the picture, some 50 horses rode by. After the palace we went to Trafalgar Square and saw a man get arrested. Day 5 Wednesday, June 6 In the morning we walked to Kensington Palace and walked through the gardens. We then went to a cool World War II museum. If you don't mind reading, I totally recommend going. I had no interest in it before we went, but it was really pretty neat. Afterwards we went to the London Tower and walked across the Tower Bridge. I don't recommend going up the Tower Bridge into the exhibit they have. It's not very interesting. Day 6 Thursday, June 7 Stonehenge Roman Baths Day 7 Friday, June 8 We laid around the hotel room and rested. We were very tired from all our sight seeing! We left on Saturday. We had such a wonderful time! I loved just being in the city. posted by Kerri on Sunday, June 10, 2007
London Part 1 Sunday, June 10, 2007 |Day 1 Saturday, June 2 First thing in the morning we went to Portobello Market and then went on a bus tour of London. The market was fun, it was packed. The tour was nice. I got sunburned. We learned a lot though. We went on a cruise of the Thames River. It was a really neat way to see the city. The tour went all the way down to Greenwich. Afterwards we went to Piccadilly Circus. We got some ice cream and sat on the grass. We went to the London Zoo. It is a fabulous zoo! I strongly recommend going. Afterwards we walked to Primrose Hill Park (by accident), and walked all the way to the top of a very steep hill that over looks the city. Very neat. posted by Kerri on Sunday, June 10, 2007
